Frameless glass that keeps the lake in the view, and powder coated metal fencing and gates that hold their line.
Glass railing and metal fencing in Vernon do two different jobs. Glass keeps a pool deck or a drop safe without blocking the lake view the house was built for. Metal fencing gives privacy, security and a clean edge to the property. Both only look right when the posts and footings under them are right.
That is why we set them as part of the build. Footings and post bases go in with the hardscape and walls, in the right place and at the right height, instead of being drilled into finished pavers or caps after the fact. The result is a railing that sits plumb and a fence that holds its line.
We build them into the same large renovations and new builds as the rest of our work, so they are planned with the pool, the deck and the walls rather than fitted around them.
Usually part of a pool deck or custom hardscape build, where the footings can be set before the surface goes down.
Glass panels on low profile spigots or base mounts, for pool decks, terraces and drops where the view matters.
Glass panels held between metal posts, where a more structured look or a simpler install suits the space.
Powder coated metal fencing and screen panels for privacy along property lines, pools and side yards.
Matching gates and pool enclosure fencing, built to the requirements for your property.
Tell us where the railing or fence is going and what it needs to do: view, privacy, safety or all three.
Heights, spans, post locations and the code and bylaw requirements for the space, confirmed before anything is ordered.
Post bases and footings set during the hardscape and wall build, exactly where they need to be.
Panels, posts and gates installed, adjusted and checked for plumb and level before we hand it over.
Clear panels with minimal hardware. The least interruption to the view.
Glass panels held between metal posts. Still open to the view, with a stronger frame.
Solid or slatted metal panels in a durable powder coated finish, like the black privacy fencing on several of our builds.
We do not publish prices, because no two properties are the same. These are the things that decide the scope, and we walk you through each one on the site visit.
The total run of railing or fence, and how tall it needs to be.
Frameless systems use thicker glass and heavier hardware than post systems.
Setting into new hardscape during the build is simpler than retrofitting into finished stone or concrete.
Every change of direction, stair section and gate adds fabrication and install time.
Pool enclosures and guards along a drop have required heights and gate hardware.
In Vernon, glass railing is mostly about the view. Pool decks and terraces on hillside lots above Okanagan Lake and Kalamalka Lake need guarding, and frameless glass is how you get it without losing the lake. Metal privacy fencing does the opposite job on the side yards and property lines of closer set lots.
Kelowna’s hillside homes and pool builds call for the same pairing: glass where the view matters and metal fencing where privacy does. We install both as part of larger outdoor projects, with the footings set during the hardscape.
On bigger Armstrong properties, metal fencing and gates tend to cover longer runs around pools, yards and driveways, while glass goes on the decks and terraces that look out across the valley.
We also build across the wider North Okanagan. If your property is outside these three, call and ask.
Pool enclosures are regulated by the municipality, usually covering fence height, openings and self closing gates. We build to the requirements for your address and confirm them before anything is ordered.
Frameless gives the cleanest view with the least hardware. Post systems cost less and suit longer runs and stairs. We recommend what suits the space.
Glass needs an occasional wash to remove water spots and fingerprints, especially around a pool. Glass cleaner, or water and a squeegee, does the job.
Often, depending on the surface and what is underneath it. It is simplest on new work, where the post bases are set as the hardscape goes in.
Powder coated, which holds up to Okanagan sun and winters far better than paint. Black is the most common choice on our builds.
Call and tell us where it is going. We will tell you what the space needs and what the rules require.
